What are indices?
Indices are measurements that track and reflect the price performance of a group of shares. They are often used as benchmarks for a specific sector or region’s economic performance. By trading any of these instruments, you can gain exposure to an entire sector or economy through only one position.

Euro Stoxx 50 (EU50)
The Euro Stoxx 50 is a stock index that is measured by market capitalization weighting. The European index measures the performance of the 50 most liquid companies in the countries that make up the Eurozone.
IBEX 35 (ES35)
The IBEX 35 is the benchmark index of the Spanish economy and it is weighted by market capitalization. Often, the index is used to measure the economic health of Spain as it groups the 35 most liquid companies on the Spanish Stock Exchange Interconnection System (SIBE).
CAC 40 (FR40)
The CAC 40, also called France 40, measures the performance of the 40 biggest stocks on the French stock exchange. It is a free-float market capitalization-weighted index. It is generally used to measure the state of the country’s economy.
DAX 30 (DE30)
The Dax 30 or DAX is considered to be the index that catches the pulse of the German economy. Its weightings are calculated based on a free float methodology while it measures the performance of the 30 to 40 largest companies listed on the German stock exchange.
S&P 500 (US500)
The S&P 500 is an index calculated by the capitalization weighting of the 505 largest US companies. It is one of the most-watched indices in the US and is considered to be a benchmark for the US economy.
Dow Jones (US30)
The Dow Jones is a composite index calculated as a price-weighted average. The index is composed of the 30 most valuable stocks on the New York Stock Exchange. It is considered by analysts as an index that may have the ability to dictate the movement of the US stock market.
Nasdaq (UT100)
The Nasdaq is an index calculated by taking into consideration market capitalization and stock prices. The Nasdaq 100 reflects the performance of the 102 most liquid companies listed on the second largest US stock exchange, the NASDAQ.
Nikkei (JP225)
The Nikkei 225 is an index calculated by price weighting. It measures the performance of the 225 most liquid stocks listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It is one of the oldest indices in Asia and it is often used to analyze the economic situation in Japan.
Hang Seng (HK50)
The HK50 or Hang Seng is a free float adjusted market capitalization weighted index. The HK50 measures the performance of the 50 largest companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and it is often used as a market benchmark for the economy of Hong Kong.
